The Fishing

The fishing with us is like no where else on the planet, with endless opportunities to track down those monsters Papuan bass and spot tail bass, with excellent guides and using our recommended tackle list fishermen consistently catch big numbers of Papuan bass some reaching upwards of 100cm +.

The papuan bass love to sit close to structure so the trick is to get your gear of choice right in front of them !
Spot tail bass loves their clear water from the mountains, and keep hunting in our lakes late afternoon till night.
The first lights of the morning can also work well.

Casting poppers, stick and swim baits, large soft plastics, vibes, frogs and even flies will also get their attention, just hold on, these fish are often referred to as “scary” and that rings true when you get your first hit.

The light wooden boats are 6 and 7 metres in length, and custom built this unique environment. They fish 3 comfortably with two guides. The boat are powered by 2 x 15 hp to get safely to our camps, then we use one engine during our fishing days to easily reach our streams.

Villages can also be visited during your stay where one can experience the unique culture of the Irian Jaya. This incredible region is one of the best bird watching you may find in all Papua.
